Stomp T4 1st Enduro with Luke Humphrey (1st place Sportman class)

The following is a review carried out by Luke Humphrey testing the new Stomp T4 Enduro Bike, written entirely in his own words:

After a gruelling 3 1/2 hours in the saddle freezing cold and racing on ice at weavers down enduro i can now talk about all the pro's and con's of stomps new machine the t4 enduro bike. Before race day i built the bike up and took it for a couple of hours practice and never touched anything i kept it completely bone stock came home and went over it with a set of spanners and loaded up ready for race day.As soon as i turned up in the morning and took the bike out the van it gained a lot of interest people asking what was it as its not like many things on the market and most people saying its a good looking race ready enduro bike as its got electric start, full set of lights and good ground clearance which is a must for those deep rut and log sections.
On the start straight -5 at 10.00 am the bike started on the button no need to spend hours playing around with choke and fuel settings to get it to idle but it did need some throttle to make it idle perfect as it didn't seem to idle very high when cold after it was warm the idle was fine.
3.2.1.... GO after we all ran to are bike's la mans style and started them we were off and i was 5th into the first corner not bad as there was nearly 90 riders in are class. As soon as we came to the first hill i went round the outside of everyone waiting to get up the hill and shot up the inside the bike pulled perfectly in 1st gear wasn't over revved and it still had good pace and grunt on a very steep loose hill soon after i had a good lead on everyone and could put the t4 through its pace. There were all sorts of different ground conditions ranging from snow covered/hard ice/deep ruts and soft sand this bike handled every corner the way i thought it would perfect even when on the edge of loosing it on the ice the bike was so easy to keep it where i wanted it to be and as it has a small swing arm it makes the bike feel small in a corner so it boosts confidence and i makes you want to hit a corner faster and faster.
About half way round the track there was a section where there was big bumps to ride over for at least half a mile this is where the fast ace front and rear suspension really did shine it worked so well i was surprised at how well they did there job it didn't kick or bounce just made me feel comfortable riding fast over them.
After going through all the hard sections we got a rest and had a good sandy straight to open up the bike and see what it had to offer its not the fastest bike in a straight line then again i was up against 250-450 2 and 4 stroke mx bikes but its not the slowest bike out there.
Now i did have a few crashes and did hit the ground hard this resulting in a broken clutch lever and bent bars so i would recommend hand guards to protect the levers and your hands also the bars do need to be stronger for crashes.
Finally the end of the race and i was hanging the bike though was absolutely perfect with a slack chain and bent bars due to me crashing the bike held up so well and in the 3 1/2 hours of riding i didn't need to tighten anything up it could of gone for 3 more hours easily.
Well the final results are here and i won the sportsman class by 9 minutes also if i was in the clubman class i would of finished up 6th and out of all classes i finished 42nd out of 256 finished riders a very good result for a bike that is bone stock and under powered compared to the competition.
Well there you have it stomps t4 250f enduro bike is one awesome package its so easy to ride the suspension is spot on and the engine is just right for enduro as it doesn't have the kind of power to pull your arms off yet has enough to win.
overall rating 9/10 due to bars not being very strong other then that its a cracking buy for £1995.

New Stomp T4 250 cc Enduro Bike

£1995, 250 cc ZS engine fully adjustable suspension - 18" rear wheel, perfect enduro bike, for club level comps or green-laning. Just what the market is crying out for & we have it OHHHHH YES!!!

Here is what Luke Humphrey had to say after he tested the bike at the weekend preparing to race it over the winter months (Luke writes how he talks, non stop):

The t4 is awesome very good overall package The bike itself rides very well and is higher of the ground then the Honda crf so even better for enduro engine gives just the right amount of power 2nd gear over logs and tight rough terrain pulls very well suspension is quite hard stock then again I'm a light rider and I haven't set it up for my weight yet but the travel is very good for hitting hard obsticals also riding around in the snow the bike is very forgiving such as if the front washes out the weight dosnt over power me so it's easy to get back Handle bars are strong and very neutral to ride with tyres are very grippy even in the snow and the lights work well only downfall is the light dosent shine very far so it's abit weary when picking up speed engine starts on button 90% of the time and kickstart isn't the easiest way to start bike So overall so far the bike is strong not bad on power suspension is very good the ride is very natural to me don't need to adjust anything and the rides is comfortable 9/10 so far.

MiniGP Update

Well, finally we got our hands on the stage 2 prototype for initial testing at Angmering. Now this is still a prototype so it's not perfect, a little rough around the edges, but we will sort all that before production. Ignore the colour scheme this is a build it & test it exercise, to ensure the performance meets our expectations. How does it ride? Errrr well, lets just say we got it right 1st time. The performance is amazing. This bike feels like a much bigger bike to ride, it's stable, turns in very quickly & is well balanced. Although your backside is planted over the rear wheel, there is no sign of the front going light (at least not with the stock motor). You would never imagine you only have 12" wheels underneath you, the grip is immense from the standard CST slicks that will come on the bike, the back didn't step out once during testing & it was clear there was a lot more to come from this bike - once Callan has got used to the riding position (having only really ridden pit bikes for a quite some time). We tweaked the suspension & got a very nice set-up for Callan who is 11 1/2 stone. There is a massive range for damping adjustment for both the front & the rear & we will be supplying different weight springs for lighter or heavier riders should they require them. Here's the video as a taster of what you can expect from a stock production machine, although we will be using the YX160 4-valve as an engine option with a Hustle Race Cam as developed with Piper Cams in the UK.

Recent Shoot For Xtremeplaypen website - ohh wo is me it's a tough life

We were recently asked to get involved in a shoot for a new website due to be launched soon called 'xtreme playpen'. The site deatures alternative glamour models getting up to no good whilst palying at extreme sports. Well the owners of the site wanted some pit bikes & clothing & we were more than happy to oblige for such a good cause and to help them off the ground. Here is one of the far less risky shots. If you want me to email you some slightly raunchier ones, please email me marc@ridestomp.com as they are too hot to post on the blog - ahahaha RUDE BOI

You can become a fan of xtremeplaypen on facebook by clicking here (or copy text to your browser) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Xtremeplaypencom/125876864108974

The website will be called xtremeplaypen.com and will feature naked girls on stomp pit bikes amongst other things when it goes live. Keep an eye on facebook for when that might happen.

Prototype Hustle Sprocket

The Guys at Hustle have just sent over this prototype full CNC 7050 Aircraft spec alloy pit bike sprocket for us to play with. They say it's going to retail at around £25, comes in 3 sizes on 420 and it's an SDG fitment so will fit most Chinese pit bikes. The quality is absolutely stunning and we are very impressed by the price.

The Hustle boss tells me they are working on Graphics Kit's on quality PP plastics (factory fitted & boxed) A Race ignition cover, CNC throttle & complete race wheels featuring their own designed hub (SDG fitment disk & sprocket). 'Skanked' Hustle Mods t'shirts are already available for only £10 (screen print on American Apparel – superb quality). We have a limited stock if you want to give us a call. I'll get some pictures up on site real soon. The Website will be up and running as soon as all the component designs are finished. So far we have been blown away by what these guys can do…...click the image for a real close up of the machining & polishing quality
