TEAM STOMP MOP UP AT THE HOUSE!

TEAM STOMP MOP UP AT THE HOUSE!

It was a TEAM Stomp one two at the British Dirt Track Championships at Rye House, Hertfordshire on Sunday, with Gary Phelps taking the overall victory over his team mate and series leader Luke Coker.

As always the racing was close, fast and eventful in the Welsh Pitbikes British Dirt Track Mini Bike Championships with 14 riders on the line, things did pretty darn close, especially when Wayne Johnstone collided with the fence and crashing in front of the following pack, which caused carnage. All riders were up and back in the re run though.

Whilst the Stomp riders took the first two places it was Trevor Heath who was the quickest rider of the day taking 4 wins, but have an engine failure in race one which cost him. Heath also rode in the Dirt Track Solo class taking all 5 race wins for the Round 4 title.

Mathew Cole is getting quicker with every event and two third places in the last two races awarded him with a 4th overall ahead of Johnstone and Billy Coles in fifth and sixth respectively.

Shane Jordon had his best result to date, being consistent throughout the day and earning a very good 7th overall, whilst Andrew Walker learned a lot from his debut at Round 3 in Swindon, to take a promising 8th place overall.

Another DT Solo rider Scott Cresswell also looked good and until he had bike problems showed well taking 9th.

Ryan Jeffries was another rider to show improvement and but for a couple of none finishes could have finished higher than his 10th and rode better than his final place suggests.

Andrew Pepler recovered from a late start to end up riding well with a good final ride, whilst veteran racer Nick Pzybora showed it is never too late to race. Our Home Town Hero Winner Craig Swales enjoyed his day, and is keen to come back having improved during the day and learning lots and making new friends.

Colin Perkins started well on his debut but faded but sure made a good impression in his first time out.
Yet again a great day of racing was had by all.
Good fun had in the pits, a sunny day, a great race track now onto round 5 at Stoke on Sunday 5th August.

With the event being only two weeks away we need entries in ASAP for this with online entries on www.britishdirttrack.co.uk

Heath turns on the Mini style at Swindon Dirt Track

Heath turns on the Mini style at Swindon Dirt Track The British Dirt Track championships headed to pastures new and the famous Abbey Stadium, home of the Swindon Robins speedway team on Sunday. The track was in awesome condition and once again there was a great line up in the Welsh Pitbikes British Dirt Track Mini Bike championships, with new faces added into the mix including the two Home Town Hero’s Piran Crook and Tom Haynes. The racing as always was epic and enjoyed by the 500 plus crowd in attendance with Team Stomps Gary Phelps showing good early form to take the first race with an intense battle with Trevor Heath. This battle was replicated in the final in a four way battle which Heath managed to win. The brothers Frearson were also in great form with Adam being the top scorer on the day with some forceful racing, whilst his brother performed well including some intense battles with series leader Luke Coker of Team Stomp. Last years runner up Wayne Holloway made a good return to the fold (and thanks to Wayne for lending us his bike for a town centre promo stand we ran the day before) and looked quick and confident on his former Speedway stomping ground. Local racer Blaine Blackwell was doing it for the little machines and showed that you can still mix it on his Super Stock KLX 110cc with a semi auto clutch coming 7th overall and 6th in the final. Loads more battles up and down the field were had, and yet again an awesome camaraderie in the pits with riders from all classes with much respect being paid to the Minis and the racing served up by the other racers, many of which are looking to take part on a mini bike in the future. Regulars Wayne Johnstone, Matthew Cole, Shane Jordan and Ryan Jefferies all added points to their tally as they aim to get in the top 12 of the series and get in the Super Final at Coventry with prizes and some cash up for grabs in October. Congratulations to both the Home Town Hero’s for their performance and for becoming part of the series, and a big thank you to the STOMP/Welsh Pitbikes team for looking after them. Thanks again for all of your support and we look forward to the next round at the smaller circuit at Rye House, in Hertfordshire, on a technical track which should certainly showcase the skill of the riders. The series is growing in popularity with everyone welcome to take part, whatever ability. If you are a front runner the racing is intense with sprint flat out races. If you are new to the game this is a great way to try racing, enjoy the camaraderie and just get yourselves on a bike and enjoy getting the back end out and being part of it. The next round is at the Rye House Stadium, Hoddeson, Hertfordshire on Sunday the 22nd July. For full info on the series visit www.britishdirttrack.co.uk if you are interested in racing email entries@allterrainevents.eu or call Gaynor on 07718 208640 or if you have any questions then call Tony on 07774 434468

Swindon Dirt Track event announces Home Town Heroes

A new initiative between British Dirt Track, Welsh Pitbikes, the Swindon Advertiser and Swindon Speedway has announced the two young riders that are taking part as the Home Town Heroes at the forthcoming British Dirt Track event at the Abbey Stadium on the 8th July.

The winners who applied to become the events Home Town Hero by emailing and posting on Social Media, will race in the Welsh Pitbikes British Mini Bike Dirt Track Championships at Blunsdon against some of the countries top racers, in what is round 3 of the national series. The Works STOMP/Welsh Pitbikes team will also provide support for the winners throughout the event, and will class them as part of their race team for the duration of the evening.

Two heats of 12 racers will fight for points in 5 point scoring heats aiming to qualify through to the final where prizes are up for grabs. The first HTH winner is 15 year old Swindon lad Piran Crook, who will take place in his first ever Mini Bike event. Piran rides Moto X, and his brother rides in the British Youth Speedway Championships, who he mechanics for. Piran’s father Patrick was over the moon when told of the prize, “when we first read about the competition in the Advertiser we were surprised that events like this were being run, so we jumped at the chance of entering Piran. We are local and many of our family and friends will be coming to support him and we hope if he goes well that he can continue in the series”.

The second winner who was awarded his place by Welsh Pitbikes is 17 year old Tom Haynes who is currently studying in Hampshire, but with close connections to Swindon. Tom said “this is tremendous news, I was going to ride in my first official event earlier in the year but my bike blew, up now I am racing in a national championship. I have Family and a lot of friends from Swindon, so I will be hoping to impress them”.

Swindon Speedway’s Alun Rossiter, who backed the initiative, said “the fact that both guys have local connections means they have the opportunity to literally be Home Town Heroes and I know I will be supporting them. I have heard a lot about the Mini Bike racing and I will be keeping a strong eye out to see the talent that is out there”

A full preview of the winners will be on www.britishdirttrack.co.uk soon as well as other info on the series.

The event starts at 6pm on the 8th July at the Abbey Stadium, with turnstiles open at 5pm. The Mini bike racing is part of a host of other national Dirt Track championship action taking place that night with the Countries top Quad, Dirt Track Solo (grasstrack) and MX riders going for glory in fast and furious sprint racing action.

If you are interesting in riding in the event email entries@allterrainevents.eu or call Gaynor on 07718 208640 but spaces are limited.

Stomps new team sponsor! Duck Smart

The STOMP Pitbike race team, have no excuses for their machinery not being spotless this season due to a new sponsorship deal with revolutionary Biker Cleaner, Duck Smart.

Duck Smart have a number of excellent cleaning products including the Earth Mover, which is a revelation in bike cleaning technology with its unique blend of softeners, detergents and foaming agents which gives the user the ultimate all over foam cleaning experience.

The Stomp race team is led by 2011 National Mini Bike champion Luke Coker, who is current leader of the Welsh Pitbikes British Dirt Track Mini Bikes Championships and the Open Pro class at the Mini Bike Championships.
STOMP team leader and long time rider Gary Phelps said of the sponsorship, “We are really happy and proud to have Duck Smart backing our team riders this year.

To get the best out of our bikes we only like to use the best products and having the backing from Duck Smart has completed the team for what is looking like a busy and successful year, and what with the good old British weather always making our kit filthy after every race event, good old Duck Smart’s earth mover comes to the rescue.

It really does what is say’s on the bottle! Spray on and jet wash off........And it smells awesome.
We have also use it on our race kit to keep that looking tip top.

The proof is in the pudding! Just take a look at our bikes at the next event and judge for yourself.

Thanks Again Duck Smart”.

Frearson takes charge at Dirt Track round 2

The strange British weather dealt the second round of the British Dirt Track Championship a good hand and a fantastic racing surface and track was produced for the racers to serve up some excellent racing once again at the grass circuit at Idover Lane, nr Wootton Bassett.
Due to the size of the track the Welsh Pitbikes British Dirt Track Mini Bike Championships also had a chicane to contend with, which kept the racing close, interesting and as always keenly contested.
The once again was top class when it came to entertainment. Race one went to a jubilant Wayne Johnstone, but after that it was all the impressive Adam Frearson’s, who looked pure class, although he was pushed all the way by Luke Coker who has to come from the back on each occasion due to poor starts. Newcomer Tony Tomasso from Poole notched a third place finish overall on his debut and was always on the pace, whilst Welsh chargers Mathew Cole and Billy Coles recorded their best ever finishes with 4th and 5th respectively and took a liking to the wet conditions, later in the day.
Johnstone after a few falls, ended up down in sixth overall, but won the final in atrocious conditions following an intense hail storm just before the race. Newcomer Ricky Pay enjoyed his day and pledged to be back and more competitive next time round after a 7th place finish.
Welsh Pitbikes Competition winner Mark Teggins enjoyed his day and finished a commendable 7th overall but more importantly enjoyed his Dirt Track experience and will be back for more!
The biggest plus of the day was the great atmosphere and camaraderie in the pits, with everyone going home with a smile on their face no matter how caked in dirt they were, and it was fantastic to see more newcomers to the sport.
All in all another great days racing all completed within two and half hours due to the impending weather, the slick show was enjoyed by all, as the show now moves onto round 3 at the Abbey Stadium, the home of the Swindon Robins Speedway team on the 8th July. Spaces are limited and with many riders already expressing an interest in riding event it is suggested that those wishing to take part email into entries@allterrainevents.eu as entry forms are not yet available.

Adam’s Shipp Comes In At Round One

Adam’s Shipp Comes In At Round One
The British Dirt Track championships set out its stall good and proper at the Coventry Speedway Stadium with round one of the series ticking all of the boxes in terms of race action and excitement.
The action was close fought all of the way in the Welsh Pit Bikes British Dirt Track Mini Bike Championships. Current champion Mark Richardson had engine problems in his first race gifting the points lead to Former British Grasstrack Champion Adam Shipp who was more than impressive in his debut mini outing. Richardson went on to win the final, with Shipp in second, but it was Coventry Speedway Star Edward Kennett who got closest to the Champion riding the boards for maximum grip giving him 2nd place in the standings, but an engine failure in the Final halted his chances of taking the spoils.
Works STOMP racer Luke Coker worked his way through the field to 3rd place in the final starting at the back of the grid due to a crash in his 2nd heat which hindered his scoring. Terry Saunters, Steven Rhodes and Steve Martin were all front runners also and the battles in this class were amazing to watch with plenty of spills as usual, with the most spectacular going to both Nick Lawrence and Gary Phelps who both scored 9.5 for artistic interpretation.
In all it was another great Dirt Track event with the racers and spectators all loving the circuit and the quality of the racing. The next round in the series is on the 21st April.

British Dirt Track Cross Championships - Round 1 - results

British Dirt Track Cross Championships - Round 1 - results

A very muddy but great day of racing was had on Sunday, for round one of the British Dirt Track Cross Championships for 2012. A full report to follow but stand out performances from Luke Cooper with a Maximum, and comeback king James Fletcher in the Quadzilla sponsored QRA Quad class, and Steve Martin in the Welsh Pitbikes sponsored Mini Bike class spring to mind. Not forgetting another fantastic perfomance from Dayfdd Davies in the Elite Youth Quads, this youngster has a big future, and James White-Williams again taking the MX class, although Blaine Blackwell did get the better off him in one race. Thanks again to all you came to watch, race, marshall and help out, and Newport Speedway.

Our new sponsors from Ducksmart Bike cleaner were also there and donated prizes for the top three in each class. I think after the mess the bikes were in after this one, it was thankfully recieved by those who won them.

Trails and Motocross News TMX Dirt squirts article!!

Good news for off road Mini Bike Racing this week as we made the TMX Newspaper.

As some of you will know the TMX is a big player in the Moto Cross world, And for us to not only to just get a mention but also pictures!
This is more than we could have hoped for.
Check it out and for all of you that have been living under a rock for the last few years thinking there is no racing going on.

You could not be more wrong!

This is a good little insight in to the new and affordable side of racing that you can do on a budget.

With the help of ATE (All Terrain Events) we have got together and put a Pit bike class with a season of multi discipline events.

This is covering all major aspects of off road racing such as Dirt Track Cross, MX , Enduro, Dirt Short Track, Beach Cross.

So there is a type of racing to suit all styles and abilities of racing throughout the UK.

And on top of this they are all run under the MCF banner so if you are any good you could come away with a title.
